The Peace Fellowship email list was created to foster edifying communication among the members and attenders of Peace Fellowship. Please follow these commandments when sending or responding to emails sent to the list.

1. Thou shalt use no other lists to send email messages to the Peace Fellowship community, as they may be outdated and leave someone out.

2. Thou shalt honor the list’s intended use and keep it holy. For example:

• Announcements of church events and activities
• Prayer requests
• Community service opportunities
• Housing needs or opportunities
• News items relevant to Peace Fellowship’s mission and core values

3. Thou shalt not use the email list in vain.

4. Thou shalt not bear inappropriate witness against thy neighbors. For example:

• Chain emails of any kind
• Political action alerts or online petitions
• Editorials, op-eds, or other opinion articles
• Your own opinion about controversial political, theological, or other issues
• Personal grievances regarding the church, its leadership, or its members

5. Thou shalt not assume that we discourage vigorous engagement of such issues. Instead, we simply and strongly believe that as a community of worship and fellowship that has the opportunity to meet regularly, these discussions should take place in the appropriate context.

6. Thou shalt ask thyself either of these two questions before sending a  message to the list:

• Would I be comfortable making this announcement in person during a church service?
• Would it be more appropriate for me to address this issue with someone in person?

7. If thou hast doubts about whether a message you’d like to send is appropriate or not, thou shalt consult an elder.

8. If thou hast concerns about the appropriateness of a message someone else sends to the list, thou shalt inquire with an elder. Thou shalt not hit “reply” hastily with your rebuttal.

9. Thou shalt not send an email when angry. (Good advice in general.)

10. Thou shalt not reply to an email when angry. (Also good advice in general.)
